What should you check before launching a website?

Format
Pre-launch tick-box checklist
Covers
Mobile responsiveness, page speed, broken links, analytics, security, legal pages
Best for
The week before a site goes live

What the preview includes

  1. ☐ Mobile Responsiveness Check
Test on actual devices, not just browser dev tools — check that tap targets are at least 44×44px and that no content is cut off or requires horizontal scrolling on common screen widths.
  2. ☐ Page Speed Test
Run your homepage and top three landing pages through PageSpeed Insights. Target Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) under 2.5 seconds — a single oversized unoptimized image is the most common cause of failing this.
  3. ☐ Broken Link Scan
Crawl the full site for 404s before launch — a broken internal link discovered by a visitor (or by Google) after launch costs credibility and crawl budget you don't get back easily.
  • Analytics and conversion tracking setup checklist
  • Security checks (SSL, form validation, spam protection)
  • Legal page requirements (privacy policy, terms, cookie consent)
  • Post-launch 30-day monitoring checklist
